Another project complete and handed over to the client just in time to enjoy the sunny weather! We were appointed by the client to take on the Contract Administration and Project Management role during the build. We also wrote the detailed Schedule of Works and tendered to our approved contractors for competitive tendering. The project involved a contemporary two storey rear extension with pitched roof and light refurbishment of the existing 3 bedroom detached property. This gave the clients a new master bedroom and en-suite with a stunning vaulted ceiling on the first floor. And a new open plan kitchen and Family Room on the ground floor with lovely views onto the garden through the full width 3m tall sliding doors. The TV and sound bar in the Family Room were built into the wall with some decorative niches above to keep the design ‘clean’. The through colour external render provided a nice link with the old traditional pebble dash on the main house. Simple features such as the mdf panelling in the Family Room and Master Bedroom gives a feeling of luxury. The client had a strict budget and we were able to provide cost savings ideas without being detrimental to the overall build. The breakdown and level of detail in our Schedule of Works enabled us to see where costs could easily be cut or specification changed. Chris was brilliant to work with and took us through each step of our project with precision, care and consideration.
